17 | WITCH | FEMALE | SINGLE | KAT GRAHAM | MANDY
PERSONALITY
Of the three girls who grew up like sisters, Bonnie has always been the most reserved, or more accurately, the one who a bit more like a sidekick. She doesn't have Caroline's bubbly energy or Elena's ability to just fit in with any crowd. However, the events of the past few years have cemented a few things about her that she does not see changing any time soon.
For one thing, Bonnie is loyal. If she cares for you, if you are her friend, she will do whatever it takes to ensure that you are safe. Sometimes this can go too far --- sometimes, she will throw herself on the sword in the name of protecting others. She needs to learn balance but it hard when it always feels like there is a threat looming.
She is stubborn. She refused to believe that she was a witch at first, preferring to think of her grandmother as crazy rather than admit what she knew deep down. Since then she has channeled that stubbornness into her pursuit of answers. She refuses to back down, so good luck getting her to budge.
Bonnie is determined. She has lost people. Her mother left her as a child. She might understand better now but it doesn't change the hurt that came with it. Her father drifts in and out of her life. Her grandmother was one of her constants and now she is gone too. She is not losing anyone else.
Combine these together and in the end, Bonnie is a fighter. She is going to do what is necessary to stand keep everyone she loves alive and safe. Even if it costs her.

HISTORY
The first few years of her life were uneventful. She formed lasting friendships with Caroline Forbes and Elena Gilbert. She didn't realize the seriousness of life until her mother suddenly wasn't in it. Soon her dad was leaving too. She spent more and more time with her grandmother and even though she loved Grams dearly, she also resented her too because she never seemed to blame Bonnie's mother for leaving her.
Then her teen years hit. On top of the resentment, she struggled with the hormones, the social demands and the strange dreams that began to plague her. At first she was able to ignore them. But then they became strangely specific, strangely familiar --- and true. That part freaked her out. Sheila Bennett swooped in with answers, as laughable as they were.
Bonnie was a witch? Yeah right.
Before long, she wasn't laughing. Bonnie might have been slow to accept the truth but once she embraced her magic, she hit the ground running. She relied on her Grams to help her learn and was devastated when she lost that connection to her magic (and truthfully, the only steady parent she had ever had). Bonnie took some time to regroup. She couldn't help but blame vampires for Sheila's death and has had a volatile relationship with them ever since. She takes each vampire on a case by case basis.
Bonnie worked hard to the ones she loved from there on out, determined not to lose anyone else. She has done what she can to grow her powers, practicing until she pushes herself to the limits. Lately, she has begun looking at other forms of magic in hopes of finding one that can ensure that she can takes on the likes of Klaus Mikaelson.
It still burns her that she didn't kill Klaus that night. She blames Elijah of course. She should have seen it coming. She won't let the opportunity slip through her fingers again. She is stronger than their last meeting. She thinks she is ready (whether or not that is true remains to be seen).
She sometimes forgets that she is just a teenager and as she enters her senior year, she finally hopes to embrace some of that again. She needs balance in her role as protector and just being a teenager. She may need someone to pull her back from that ledge too.
Only time will tell.

RP SAMPLE
There was a dull ache in behind her eyes but she ignored it.
Bonnie took a deep breath, pulling air into her lungs and letting it back out as she doubled down on the spell. The words slipped out of her mouth, a steady stream of Latin as the candles flared. She could feel her magic press against her skin, almost there, almost ready to break free. She wanted it to --- the thrill was almost worth the pain.
But at the last moment, it pulled back and she tasted blood. Bonnie's eyes opened as the candles dimmed. She waited a beat or two for things to truly calm and then she sighed. So close. So damn close. She just wasn't strong enough. Or maybe she was doing it wrong. It was hard to know the real cause of her failure when she was all alone in this. She looked to the ceiling, wishing not for the first time, that her grandmother was still there to guide her hand. She was tired of doing this alone.
Part of her wanted to try again; she needed to be ready after all. But she knew better than to push herself too far. So instead, she closed the grimoire and extinguished the candles with a flick of her hand. She hopped off her bed, moving into the adjoining bathroom. There was blood on her face and she was quick to remove any trace.
Grabbing her bookbag, she headed towards the door ready to become Bonnie Bennett the student, instead of Bonnie Bennett the town witch.
She was eager to see how long the switch would last this time.
