HISTORY
Effie was 26 when a European vampire arrived in Norse Greenland along with his human servant to search for the moonstone. They later traveled to Canada and America where he eventually found the stone along with a young Native woman whom he wished to marry. However, her family of witches refused to give him Effie or the stone and managed to imprison him. Until one full moon night, the witch who had bound him was killed and he escaped. In retaliation, he turned Effie into a vampire and forced the survivors to sail them back to Europe. Her family knew they wouldn't survive the journey, so they spelled her bracelet that contained lapis lazuli, hoping that once she reached the Old World, she could run away. Her captor renamed her Artemis to thank the goddess for sending the wolves. After being educated on the ‘civilized’ and supernatural worlds, Effie began searching for the doppelganger.
Her captor promised to take her home once they found her except he did everything in his power to distract her from the goal. It wasn’t until 1492 when someone else delivered the doppelganger that she got her revenge. Officially alone in the world, the original vampire Niklaus took her under his wing. Despite not being a member of Klaus' council, he trusts her deeply. As a result, she was summoned to Mystic Falls, a call she readily answered due to her gratitude towards him. Once her aid is no longer needed, she plans to resume her global community service and search for like-minded individuals to create a den with. Despite initially hating being whisked away by her captor, Artemis grew to enjoy vacationing. She would use his wealth to help impoverished people around them, probably out of guilt for not being able to help her own people.

She enjoyed this way of living for a few centuries before she started yearning for a family that she could freely interact with without fear of being exposed. Over the years, she met many individuals who were perfect for her den, some of whom were already vampires while others had to be turned. However, they have yet to settle down permanently due to territory wars with other supernaturals. Her dedication to Klaus has also pulled her away from them at inopportune times. Nevertheless having such a powerful ally allowed her to amass a fortune of her own through various business ventures.

R'Vani usually went to the grocery store to buy ice cream so she could satisfy her cravings at home. However, there was a nearby ice cream shop, and after running errands, she decided to treat herself. She wore a long-sleeved sweater, a colorful scarf, knee-high boots, and thick leggings, which were perfect for the cold weather. As she entered the shop, she was greeted by a long line. Although she was initially annoyed, she realized that the long line was a testament to the quality of the ice cream. Fortunately, the line was moving quickly, perhaps a bit too quickly. Suddenly, a kid almost knocked over the person standing in front of her, causing him to almost bump into R'Vani. She quickly stepped back to make sure that her boots had not been stepped on.
As she looked up, she noticed the male's blue eyes flashing through a mass of curls, which slightly took her aback. "No worries, I'm fine," she replied, even though she was a little annoyed that the kid didn't bother to apologize. "Are you okay?" she added, since he was the one who actually collided with another person.
