PERSONALITY
Klaus is a manipulative and calculating creature. His desire is to always remain a step ahead of the competition and remain at the top of the food chain. Becoming a Hybrid has only boosted his ego, the belief that's untouchable. He's the most feared creature now, no longer on par with the rest of his siblings, he's above them. Klaus committed an atrocity by killing his own brother, Finn. Whilst in public, he wears this as an achievement, it's been eating away at him in public, shrouded by loneliness. He only has Stefan but how long will that hold with their return to Mytic Falls?

HISTORY
- Klaus was the black sheep of the family, a product of Esther's affair with a werewolf. Henrik's death was often blamed on him by Mikael, who despised him.
-His mother turned the family all into first vampires in history, though Klaus' werewolf nature remained unlocked with his vampire side, thus becoming a hybrid.
-Mikael couldn't allow this and he forced Esther to subdue the werewolf side of him, making him just an Original Vampire.
- The first mortal he sired was Lucien Castle. Rebekah sired Aurora and Elijah sired Tristan. Klaus and the duo used the Trinity as an opportunity to avert Mikael's advances for centuries.
-Klaus daggered Finn, thus beginning the 900 year slumber.
-When Klaus killed all of the 5, he went crazy for over 50 years, becoming suicidal.
-He meets Katherine, whom is the doppelganger and thus needed to complete the ritual. However, she kills herself with vampire blood and transitions. The ritual can no longer be completed so Klaus kills her whole family in retaliation.
-Klaus made a home in New Orleans, making his kingdom. There, he found someone he called call son, his fight reminded of the way Klaus fought against his father. He named him Marcellus, Marcel for short.
-When Mikael stormed New Orleans, Klaus escaped, leaving Marcel behind whom he thought had become a victim of Mikael's wrath.
-Klaus and Rebekah flee to Chicago, where they meet Stefan. They all enjoy their time together until Mikael storms Chicago. Klaus makes Stefan forget everything.
-Klaus continues his search to complete the ritual to unlock his hybrid side.
- Klaus hears of the doppelganger, Elena and strives to finally complete the ritual after 1000 years. He finally does so, unaware that Elijah had helped Elena.
- Stefan comes to Klaus, demanding help to save Damon from a werewolf bite. Klaus agrees, providing a cure only if Stefan enters his service and unlocks the ripper. Stefan agrees.
- Klaus and Stefan looked for a way for Klaus to build his hybrid army but failure is at every turn. Klaus is unaware that Elena is alive.
-Klaus undaggers Rebekah.
-Rebekah a couple months down the line then chooses to undagger all her siblings and they return to Mystic Falls. Klaus, furious, chases them to Mystic Falls with a reluctant Stefan.
-In a family meeting, Finn attempts to kill Stefan. Klaus, with a white oak stake he had hidden away for emergencies, stakes Finn, turning him into ashes. Klaus chose Stefan over his own blood.

A deal had been struck and Klaus had to be fair on his judgement of Stefan. He hadn't fought him. Perhaps snarky comments about how Klaus conducted his business but Stefan was the last person who could pass judgement on the most feared creature of all time. The reasonings were all the more evident. Stefan served Klaus now. He bent the knee and submitted his will to him in order to save his brother. Klaus could admire the sentiment behind it but it's that same sentiment that made Stefan weak. He was doing the Salvatore a favour. Stefan's last name translated to salvation and Klaus was providing him that. Salvation. Unlocking his true potential would etch Stefan's name across history and ensure his salvation. He was a predator at heart who chose to weaken himself. Niklaus was providing a new light on life. Each time he looked into the young vampire's eyes, the emptier they had become.
Stefan reading out the name did nothing to budge Klaus. Name or not, she was food and she had information that she could have provided but opted not to. Klaus' eyes were locked on the Salvatore, who was not admiring his handy work. No, instead, he heard it in his voice. The disappointment in his actions and worse, in himself. Klaus scoffed at this action from Stefan, rolling his eyes. He could of provided comfort to his friend in that moment, but he decided to don the mask of authority in that moment. ''Helen Carr, Karen Carr, why the bloody hell does it matter what name they were given at birth?'' His tone was stern, watching as Stefan rose to his height. Niklaus knew Stefan all too well. His ritual but his mood was impatient. For what felt like years, he'd been searching for a cure to his hybrids. He was still the only hybrid.
''You're a rippah,'' Klaus' tone was a husk, emphasising the ripper, giving power to the label that Klaus had given him since he entered his service. ''They're merely food - livestock, if you will. They've served their purpose. Perhaps you've become incompetent in how you extract information from our fearful subjects. I remember when you entered my service, the eagerness in which you would force valuable information out. The screams, oh how they would scream and beg for you to show mercy.'' Klaus began circling around Stefan, clasping his hands behind his back, shaking his head in disappointment. He then suddenly halted, looking down at the body then trailing his eyes up to Stefan. ''So, Rippah, where do we go from here?''
